In a remarkable Premier League match, Justin Kluivert made history by becoming the first player to score a hat-trick solely from penalties, leading Bournemouth to a 4-2 victory over Wolves. In case you didn’t already know, Justin is the son of another legendary Kluivert, Patrick.

The game started with a bang as Wolves’ four-game unbeaten streak was shattered within the first 16 minutes. Toti Gomes fouled Evanilson in the penalty area just 58 seconds in, allowing Kluivert to score his first penalty. Although Jorgen Strand Larsen quickly equalized, Bournemouth regained the lead when Marcus Tavernier set up Milos Kerkez for a goal.

Kluivert’s second penalty came after Evanilson was fouled by Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa, who later faced the wrath of fans at halftime. Despite Strand Larsen’s second goal for Wolves, hopes for a comeback were dashed when Sa committed another foul, leading to Kluivert’s third penalty goal.

    Manager Reactions

Iraola: “We Needed to Finish the Job” (Bournemouth)

Bournemouth’s manager, Andoni Iraola, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasizing the importance of securing the win after previous games where they deserved more. He praised Evanilson for his pivotal role in creating opportunities and winning penalties.

O’Neil: “We Will Respond Against Everton” (Wolverhampton)

Wolves’ manager, Gary O’Neil, took a moment to reflect on the errors that ultimately cost his team the match. In his post-game analysis, he candidly acknowledged the areas where improvement is necessary, emphasizing that these mistakes were pivotal in the outcome. O’Neil’s assessment wasn’t just about identifying faults; it was a call to action for his team. He expressed a firm commitment to addressing these issues head-on, promising fans and players alike that they would see a strong response in their upcoming game against Everton. This promise wasn’t just about tactics or strategy; it was about reigniting the team’s spirit and determination to bounce back stronger. As they prepare for the clash with Everton, O’Neil’s words serve as both a challenge and a rallying cry, setting the stage for what he hopes will be a turning point in their season.
